Meaghan Mulholland is a writer, currently pursuing her MFA in Creative Writing at the University
of Arkansas. Her work has appeared in The Colorado Review, National Geographic Traveler, Washington Flyer, and Southwest Airlines' Spirit Magazine,
among other publications. Her writing awards include a Creative Writing Fulbright
Fellowship to Italy as well as top rankings in several fiction
contests, and she is hard at work finishing a novel set in Sicily. She previously worked for several years as a researcher at National

News: 02/28/10 -- I was named one of about twelve Finalists for the 2010 Baltic Writing Residency in Latvia -- which this year was awarded to Australian poet Emma Jones. The residency seems like an amazing opportunity, and I'm honored to have been considered for it.

News: 04/23/09 -- I've
been selected as winner of this year's Coughlin-Lawrence
Fiction Fellowship for the Solstice Summer Writers Conference, to be held in Chestnut Hill,
MA this June. The scholarship covers full tuition, room and board. I'm looking forward to heading back to my old stomping grounds near BC, and to working with some very talented writers. News: 11/22/08 -- I've been selected as a Top Ten finalist in Zoetrope: All-Story's
2008 short fiction contest, judged by Elizabeth McCracken. The winners
and seven finalists "will be considered for representation by the
William Morris Agency, ICM, Regal Literary, the Elaine Markson Literary
Agency, Inkwell Management, Sterling Lord Literistic, and the Georges
Borchardt Literary Agency."
News: My short fiction story, "Immersion Program," appears in the Fall 2008 issue of the Colorado Review.
"Immersion Program" was a Top Ten finalist for the 2008 Nelligan Prize
for short fiction, and also chosen as Runner-up in both the 2007 Indiana Review fiction contest and the 2007 Bellingham Reviewfiction contest.
